The New England Patriots and the San Francisco Giants have partnered with Rum Flor de Caña. This partnership indirectly helps finance the Ortega-Murillo regime in Nicaragua. We are requesting for these teams to break all ties with Rum Flor de Caña and join the Boycott.

On December 9th 2018, #BoycottForNicaragua announced an international boycott to ‘Ron Flor de Caña’. The boycott was called because of Mr. Pella’s beneficial business relationship with Nicaragua’s dictator Daniel Ortega. As the situation in Nicaragua continues to deteriorate, this boycott becomes more important. It’s no longer simply a way to condemn Mr. Pellas complicit business deals with the regime, it is an effective way to stop financing government repression in Nicaragua. When we buy Flor de Caña, or any other product from Nicaragua, we are paying export taxes to the Nicaraguan regime. Our money is then used to pay paramilitary forces and the Nicaraguan police to threaten, torture, incarcerate and even kill the Nicaraguan people.
 
We urge these teams to stand up for human rights and stop selling or promoting Flor de Caña until basic human rights are restored in Nicaragua.
