The Issue
As technology continues to influence consumer behavior, more and more retailers are developing innovative ways to reach customers. In the sneaker & apparel industry in particular companies like Nike and Adidas have invested in developing their own apps to address the growing online market while attempting to also provide a fair platform despite extreme demand. New Balance USA has a website which gives customers the option to purchase online, however their queue-IT system for releases is archaic, slow, and encourages the use of automated (bot) checkouts. The result is a poor customer experience, hours of wasted time, and a negative impact to productivity and/or familial responsibilities.
We are asking New Balance to develop a native application for iOS & Android in order to provide: a fair marketplace for releases (via draw/raffle), a reasonable expectation of time-commitment for customers, improved push notifications, and better integration of NB points rewards. We’re confident all of these things will only improve user experience and increase brand loyalty. It’s about time New Balance. No if’s, and’s, or bots!
