Aaron Freeman for Nevada Senate

Aaron Freeman for Nevada Senate
The Issue
My name is Aaron Freeman and I am currently living in Las Vegas, NV. I was an active volunteer for the Andrew Yang Presidential campaign. Being apart of a grassroots movement sparked a passion in me I refuse to let die now.
I am considering running for a State Senate seat here in Nevada. I would be running as a Democratic with the following issues in mind.
1. Helping push and promote UBI (Universal Basic Income) here in the Silver State. I believe that Andrew Yang is correct in his assessment that automation is going to hit Nevadans the hardest. We need to help soften that blow by creating UBI to help thousands of workers in casinos, food service, bartending, etc.
2. Creating a universal registry of persons convicted of animal abuse. This system would prevent offenders from adopting or purchasing pets here in Nevada ever again. My dream would be to have this registry available for the public via mobile app when transferring ownership of pets in Nevada. We have to be the voice of the voiceless.
3. Creating safe consumption sites for those addicted to opioids and other drugs. We need to rehabilitate not incarcerate those suffering from the horrible disease of addiction. These sites would allow people to safely consume and would also provide a needle exchange program. My goal is to help people feel less ashamed and offer them guidance and counseling at this sites.
4. Decriminalizing drugs in Nevada. We should not punish those with addiction with drug charges on their record. This will lead them down a darker path that most will not be able to recover from. As for the dealers and pushers, no pardoning for them. We must prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.
These are just some of the issues I will fight for if I am blessed enough to win office. I hope you will help me champion change and push Nevada forward. Humanity first!
