Apologize and affirm that staff may not discriminate against those with faith or no faith.

Apologize and affirm that staff may not discriminate against those with faith or no faith.
The Issue
In April 2014, John Whiteside, a customer of Wells Fargo bank, and founder and current leader of the United Church of Bacon, brought valid identification to a Wells Fargo notary public. He was refused notary service, in what may have been a case of religious discrimination. He was able to close his bank account, proving that his identification was not the obstacle. The notarization was simple, just a statement the a member of the church was in good standing. The next day at a different branch he was given a notarization with no trouble, proving that there was no obstacle and no possible reason for the initial refusal. Details here.
We, the undersigned, call on Wells Fargo Bank to affirm their policy that their staff do not discriminate on the basis of religion and to apologize for the incident and admission that this was religious discrimination. No further action will be taken if Wells Fargo agrees to this request.
We, the undersigned, call upon Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval to investigate in a through professional manner this incident. If a state has special protection laws for religious groups, then it must enforce those laws for all religions.
