Neuroinclusion Now: Take Action to Recognize It

The Issue

Take action to create a future where neurodivergent people are not just included but valued at work and beyond.

At Being Collective, we’re leveraging our HR expertise and lived experiences as neurodivergent adults to push for better workplaces for everyone.

We are happy to partner with Dan Harris - Founder of Neurodiversity in Business - Based in the UK to amplify awareness and acceptance globally.

We call this neuroinclusion—a concept gaining traction in advocacy spaces, scientific journals, and communities.

Yet, it still lacks the formal recognition it needs to drive real change.

The Issue: Neuroinclusion isn’t a buzzword or a trend; it’s now, it’s the future of work and life.

But right now, it’s not even defined in Merriam-Webster or the Oxford Dictionary. That’s a problem. Words shape how we think and act. Without “neuroinclusion” in our dictionaries, it’s harder to legitimize the conversation and push for inclusive practices.

Why This Matters Now:

  • 15-20% of the global population is neurodivergent, including those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and more.
  • 30-40% of neurodivergent adults face unemployment, despite having the skills and qualifications to thrive. The U.S. Department of Labor highlights that while workplaces are becoming more diverse, they still fall short of being truly inclusive for neurodivergent talent.

Our workplaces are already neurodiverse. But it’s time our policies, cultures, and yes—even our dictionaries—catch up.

How You Can Help: Use the word “neuroinclusion” in your conversations, at work, and in your content. (#includeneuroinclusion)

Let's make it part of our everyday language.

Sign and share this petition to call on Merriam-Webster and Oxford Dictionary to add “neuroinclusion.” (no financial contributions needed just your voice)

We’ll be submitting a universal definition directly to both. Your signature helps give legitimacy to the word and the movement behind it.

Highlight real-world examples of neuroinclusion: From companies like Microsoft adopting neuroinclusive practices to advocacy groups like NeuroClastic leading the charge.

Join our TikTok campaign: Follow, share, and lend your voice. We want to hear your take on defining neuroinclusion.  Let’s do this together. (Find us at Being Collective)

Our Goal: By Neurodiversity Awareness Month in April, we want “neuroinclusion” to be more than just an idea—it should be an officially recognized word. Because when it’s in the dictionary, it becomes part of our culture. And that’s when real change happens. Words shape reality.

Together, let’s create a world built on acceptance, equity, inclusion, and empowerment.

Demand acceptance. Demand recognition. Demand neuroinclusion. Let’s define the future—together.
