Release the Afternoon With SCTV Special

Release the Afternoon With SCTV Special
The Issue
The “An Afternoon With SCTV” special was produced by Martin Scorsese and filmed between 2017-2018, originally slated for release around 2019. Hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, it featured the surviving cast members of the 70s-80s Canadian sketch comedy discussing the beloved series and would include previously unseen material. However, recently, it has been announced by cast member Joe Flaherty that this special was cancelled and will not be released.
That is what this petition is for.
The performers who worked on this production are an amazing, talented, kind, and funny group and very much anticipated its creation and eventual release. They put a good amount of hard work into making it, and it would be a huge shame if all of their effort was in vain and the finished special was permanently scrapped. And there is no clear cut reason why it should be.
As fans, we request that Netflix, Scorsese, and/or whoever else holds liability for the project consider releasing it. Many of us very badly want to see this documentary, and it is unfair to cast members and fandom alike for it to be shelved after all this time.
