Give Vampire Academy the Adaptation It Deserves

There are stories we read once and forget… and then there are stories like Vampire Academy - the kind that carve their way into our hearts and never let go.

Richelle Mead’s world of Moroi, Dhampirs, and Strigoi gave us unforgettable characters, forbidden love, fierce loyalty, and sacrifice - all wrapped in a mythos unlike any other. It was dark, romantic, tragic, political, and powerful. And yet, more than a decade later, this story still waits for the screen adaptation it truly deserves.

Two adaptations have tried and failed:

• The 2014 film rushed through the plot and mismatched the tone. Despite near-perfect casting, it leaned into comedy and satire instead of trusting the emotional gravity of the books.

Vampire Academy has the same - and in many ways, more - potential. A richer world. A more complex heroine. Real political stakes. Layered friendships. And a loyal, global fandom that’s still here, still creating, and still waiting.

We believe Netflix is the right platform to bring this story to life - faithfully, beautifully, and with the scope it deserves. Netflix has delivered bold, global fantasy hits like Shadow and Bone, The Witcher, and Wednesday. With the right creative team and respect for canon, Vampire Academy could be next.

• A faithful adaptation that follows the books and honors Richelle Mead’s vision.
• Character-accurate casting.
• Balances darkness and light, romance and war, pain and beauty - just like the books.
• A creative team that honors the source material and serves the fanbase, not one that rewrites it to chase trends.

Vampire Academy is not just a series - it’s a legacy, a lifeline, a memory etched into the hearts of readers all over the world. It's time to give this world the adaptation it was always worthy of.
