This iconic movie, starring Diane Lane as archetypal lost soul and Sandra Oh as the pregnant lesbian we love to love, was taken off of Netflix streaming in the summer of 2015, a gross injustice. This film is required watching for anyone who wants to feel at peace with the world and ready to make life-changing big decisions! It should be available to watch immediately on Netflix. Please help me tell them to put it back at their earliest convenience. The characters in this movie are at once relatable and aspirational, searching for themselves in the beautiful Italian countryside. Who can forget manic pixie dream woman Katherine and her fountain bath and sunny disposition? Or Pawel Szajda, who portrayed a young, idealistic Polish laborer in love, with his rakish charm, kind eyes and big strong arms?
