Why this petition matters

We sat down as a family with our 9 and 14-year-old to watch Cobra Kai, the spin-off from the original Karate Kid.  The Karate Kid was a great family show, something you could watch and enjoy with the whole family.  That is NOT the case with the Netflix spin-off Cobra Kai, immediately the vulgar language starts, over the top, needlessly, it's almost like they had to go back and rewrite scenes to purposefully insert the vulgarity.  It seems out of place and is totally unnecessary.  After suffering through the first episode, hoping it would get better, halfway through episode two the sexual references were so strong during a lunchroom conversation that is immediately forced me to turn Netflix off and apologize to my kids.  They don't need to hear about hand jobs and other sexual references by 13 and 14-year-old kids on TV.   Why does Netflix insert so much sex, so much vulgarity into everything they create?  They either never had or lost their desire to follow a rating system, their TV14 is movie rated R.  Allowing perverted content to be inserted into family movies especially shows that interest children, about children, is the reason I am canceling my Netflix and encourage everyone to do the same.  Sign this petition to send Netflix a message that the level of vulgarity, sex, and profanity has no place in the content they create aimed at children.  I ask a simple question.  Does sexual references and vulgarity make the show more enjoyable for any family?  Its awkward it is unnecessary and it is not what we want for our family.   This petition is not solely because of Cobra Kai, but because Netflix content is 99% of the time vulgar, perverted, and not for families. Too bad Disney did not have the chance to make this series.  It would have been lacking all this unnecessary vulgarity and would have been more memorable and enjoyable.  Disney+  it is!!
