“The Big Short”, Adam McKay’s Academy Award winning film, has educated millions, ensuring “credit default swap” is a part of the lexicon of the common person. While nominated for ‘Best Motion Picture of the Year’, McKay was robbed of the title, as the Academy frivolously and carelessly gave the Oscar to a movie that has nothing to do with sub par mortgages and advanced derivatives.

Now more than ever, we need to understand what happens when bubbles burst and systems fail. Many seasoned analysts caution that we are entering a deep recession, yet record amounts of retail investors are entering the market bringing indices to new highs. Recently, a trillion dollar stimulus package was provided by the US Fed, unnaturally inflating markets to the chagrin of short sellers.

In the past Netflix has provided “The Big Short” to its loyal patrons as a part of their subscription; despite the movie’s perfect acting, writing, cinematography, scoring, post production, and educational value, Netflix has removed “The Big Short” from its catalogue at different times.

Signatories of this petition demand that Netflix provide’s access to “The Big Short” on a permanent basis, to ensure future generations exercise their right to access this gift of a movie.
