Extracurricular was a great K-drama with the show addressing young boys and girls, or should I say teenagers that commit crime and wrongdoings to live the life they wanted, but things are in the way before they achieve that.

Therefore (spoiler!), the show didn't end on an ending that we all think we would happen — a happy ending. But rather what we got is an open one with Ji Soo and Gyu Ri stuck on the stairs and then looking up to someone which we never saw. We then go to the police's POV and we only see blood stains and a tennis shoe (whom belongs probably to Ji Soo) which could only mean that the two escaped. The show ends with a shot of Seoul as it forms a square shape (which could mean that the two could be hiding somewhere) and a scene of Ji Soo's hermit crab with someone pouring water to it even though there's already enough of it.
