We Christians cannot afford to be doormats when our beliefs are constantly attacked and made the object of sneers and mockery. While turning the other cheek is always important in the face of hatred, we are also called to stand up for our God and our beliefs. While we cannot spend time and energy on every insult, there are ones that demand a response. When I heard of this latest incident of Christ-bashing, my conscience urged me not to stay silent. Netflix markets itself as a family-friendly service, and indeed offers an efficient and less costly form of entertainment. As a customer, I enjoy the wide variety they offer. And yet they have chosen to include in a show of their own producing an incident that deeply insults its Christian customers. At the same time, it is highly unlikely that they would choose to make the same insulting gesture towards Jews or Muslims---the risk of backlash would be too great. I am asking you to help show Netflix that their assumption that Christians will uncomplainingly allow their beliefs to be blasphemed is completely mistaken.
