2015

2015 has been a very unfortunate year for Nepal after the major Earthquake hit in April last year. Nepal's unstable political situation worsened the condition for the local people. Due to the consecutive natural and man made disasters in the country since April, people living in Nepal have been deprived of normal life.
Since the new constitution was formed in September 2015, there has been an ongoing blockade in Nepal-India border that has lead to a massive humanitarian crisis, as shortages of fuel, medicines, and essential supplies have become acute across Nepal with little sign of reconciliation in sight.
We are living in an 11 hours of daily electricity/power cut and shortages of essential supplies like Gas which is used by almost all households for cooking and heating. The majority are using wood fire for survival in the capital city of Kathmandu, things are even worse in remote villages.
There has been a spread of black market in Nepal since the blockade and all essential household supplies including petrol/diesel are sold in over inflated prices unaffordable by the majority, and there is absolutely no monitoring or controlling of such issues by our Government or concerned authorities.
The one thing that the leaders are supposed to do is to resolve the political discrepancies with whoever concerned, be it the internal opposition parties or neighbor India but they have failed at this again and this has failed our country people.
The political crisis in Nepal is so complex and uncompromising that it is leading us downhill to Stone Age in this 21st century which is very disheartening.
As this political emergency quickly followed the major earthquake, people whose lives have been distraught by earthquake are totally forgotten and are out of concern to the government and media. Earthquake survivors are dying and thousands other have fallen sick in various districts due to the harsh winter chill because they are still living in the temporary unsecured tents after 8 months of the disaster, with shortages of essential supplies. The millions of donations collected in the name of earthquake survivors and pledges made by our government to distribute them have disappeared in vain. They are deprived of basic human rights.
Amidst this chaos in the country, and with little hope left, we still request and petition to CIAA, Transparency International, UN, and to the world, to not to turn a blind eye to this humanitarian crisis that need deliverance more than ever.
