Negligence,Malpractice and Heartbreak:My Pet's Choice clinic,a clinic of horrors.

The Issue

I was a loyal client of My Pet's Choice clinic,Bangalore since 2018,but my latest experience was heartbreaking. The veterinarians delayed addressing my cat's constipation issue, allowing it to escalate into obstipation. This necessitated an enterotomy surgery, which I was assured would be preceded by a blood test. However, this critical step was skipped despite the clinic having a blood test lab.

After the surgery, my cat received IV fluids and injections, with instructions to withhold food and water for five days. On the second day of the surgery, Eight IV injections were given successively and his condition worsened:

  • Yellow liquid discharge from nose and mouth (dismissed as normal)
  •  Involuntary urination (attributed to fluid administration)
  • Vomiting yellow liquid (prompting a belated blood test)

The blood test revealed low RBC,Haemoglobin, WBC, and platelet counts. I suspect the veterinarian stole my cat's blood during surgery. Moreover, despite knowing about the blood loss, the veterinarian only informed me about the low WBC. I was also told for low WBC that a Filgastrim injection was administered, but I didn't witness the name of the injection.

My cat's breathing difficulties began shortly after the surgery. Despite my concerns, the clinic reassured me that everything was normal. They downplayed several alarming symptoms, including yellow discharge, third eyelids, involuntary urination, abnormal breathing sounds(tick sound) and a detected heart murmur. The clinic suggested I return the next day, implying my cat would recover soon. They also stated that food and water would be introduced in two days, discouraging me from seeking immediate alternative care.

Tragically, my cat lost his life within eight hours of the last injection. I rushed him to a 24/7 emergency veterinary hospital, where the team attempted CPR, administered oxygen and dextrose, but couldn't revive him. They checked my cat's temperature and it had fallen to 97°F. Upon reviewing the only blood test report, the emergency veterinarians noted severe blood loss, emphasizing that blood test should have been done before surgery as per standard veterinary practices. It was then that I came to know about the low RBC and blood, which were not adequately communicated to me earlier.I was left devastated upon discovering that my cat's death was due to medical negligence and malpractice by the doctors at the clinic.

I've since discovered reviews from pet owners who have experienced similar devastating losses due to the clinic's questionable practices, including administering high-dose injections.

I hope that by sharing my story, I can prevent further tragedies and ensure that this clinic is held accountable for their actions.
