Boise States win record vs power 5 schools Since 1986; Home: 58%, Away: 26%

Based on national averages and BSU’s away win record their home record should only be about 46% Against P5 opponents. The blue turf is providing an unfair advantage that Equates to approximately 12% increase in their win % at home. That means every year the Smurf turf buys them wins in 3 quarters of football that they would normally lose.

For the fans in Boise that say “it’s us that provide the boost.” They obviously haven’t been to a P5 game or didn’t notice that they are much fewer in number, quieter, and less ferocious than the fans at just about any other P5 Stadium.

To the people who say, “well BSU is just a bad road team.” I will say BSU would have to be the worst road team in the history of football to be as good as they are at home and then as bad as they are away. I’m just not buying that.

The NCAA has all but admitted that the turf is an unfair advantage when it tried to ban Boise from wearing all blue uniforms (including the helmets) when at home. The Mountain West conference has the same rule in place but went to bat for Boise opposing and eventually killing the rule that would prevent this unfair advantage from taking place during non conference games.

If we can’t trust the NCAA and the biggest hypocrites in college football, the MWC, from banning the most hideous camouflage in sports then let’s get them to ban the turf. the blue turf makes it difficult for broadcasters, officials, video review, players and coaches to see clearly what’s happening with the football (contrast between dark blue and brown leather is a lot less conclusive than green grass and leather, now add in jerseys and shoes of the same color).

Professional tennis tried blue clay, it failed, they admitted it and moved on, it’s time for the NCAA to do the same.

If you don’t believe me still, look up videos from the CSU 2017 game Against Boise where they wore all blue on a normal turf.... the contrast is real!
