North Carolina US House Representative Madison Cawthorn (R-11) lacks basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.  He frequently and publicly misquotes historical figures and misrepresents historical events.  Even his signature is an illustration of his abysmal failure to learn the basic cursive script that most Americans master by third grade.  When he’s not posing with long rifles or filming himself pummeling already dead saplings as PR stunts, he’s praising the lavish lifestyles of methed-up genocidal fascist dictators like Adolf Hitler.

Perhaps it’s too lofty an aspiration to expect that America’s 535 “best and brightest” are those selected to represent her hundreds of millions of citizens in the halls and chambers of Congress (see also: Marjorie Taylor-Greene).  But a basic level of competence, cognitive skills, and understanding of US History and Civics should constitute a prerequisite for shouldering the awesome responsibility that this service brings.

Send Billy Madison Cawthorn back to elementary school.  The people of North Carolina deserve better — let’s work together with the common goal of making this milk OUR milk!
