Trying to design an entirely new "city edition" NBA jersey that is actually good for every team every year is impossible, as evidenced by all of the TERRIBLE jerseys that we see unveiled each and every year. Clearly there's money to be made by constantly introducing new jerseys for fans to buy, but there has to be a line somewhere when it comes to hurting the overall NBA product for cash, and this should be the line. Let teams introduce new uniforms when they actually have good ideas for them, don't make them do it every year. 

We've seen good uniforms like the Miami Vice ones be forced out just so a new, worse jersey can make its way in. With all of the player movement in the league, fans have new reasons to buy jerseys every year anyway. There's no need to artificially create another one. At least cycle through the league every few years so there aren't 30 new city edition uniforms each year -- doing 10 at a time is much more reasonable and would allow some familiarity to form with the current jerseys. In this current setup there are some teams that clearly just punt and do something basic/boring every year, or change one small aspect of a good jersey because they clearly had to. Please, the NBA and Nike, relax with all the new uniforms.
