Restore the 'Dawk Ins' Youtube channel

This petition had 7,064 supporters

Dawk Ins is the username of a 'Youtuber' who has put thousands of hours of work into building extensive, thorough, HD highlight reels for game performances by NBA players throughout the league for years. These videos gave any NBA fan a great way to catch up on what their favorite players had been doing. It also let them keep up with seeing how players from other, lesser-watched teams were performing, players who people otherwise would be unable to watch on television in their area. All these highlights would otherwise be unavailable from NBA.com or ESPN.

Dawk Ins made highlights that were exactly what the fans wanted, extensive, real, and in HD. He never did anything that deserved for his account to be taken down, other than the fact that he used clips that had broadcast on TV. The NBA complained and banned his channel for 'copyright infringement', removing the thousands of videos he had made.

We ask that the NBA give 'Dawk Ins' express, written permission to continue to post game highlights. This petition is for the NBA to do whatever it legally takes to let 'Dawk Ins' continue to bring highlights to online fans.
