Re-open NTS Holmwood House Glasgow

The Issue

Holmwood House has been owned by the National Trust for Scotland since 1994 and open to the public since 1998. It is regarded as being Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson’s finest example of domestic architecture and is Category A Listed. The Trust has invested considerable effort recently in restoring large parts of the interior. This investment has been very welcome, and has been carried out sensitively and effectively. It is one of the few Thomson properties regularly open to the general public.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic the National Trust for Scotland has been obliged to close the property. At present it appears it may not re-open until 2022!

The volunteers at the House and others are pressing for the House to reopen as soon as practicable to let as many people as possible to view the recent conservation work.

Please sign this petition to encourage the Trust to review their position on this and to reopen the House and grounds.
