The truth is, Americans and our pets are exposed to thousands of chemicals every day, and almost none of them have ever been tested for safety. The current law—which hasn't been updated in nearly 40 years—is so badly broken that EPA is virtually powerless to restrict even known deadly carcinogens like asbestos.

But there is something you can do, right now, to help keep toxic chemicals out of our homes and away from our families and pets. A new bill in Congress—the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act—is our best chance in a generation to fix this broken policy.
