National Judicial Infrastructure Corporation: improve the productivity of the judiciary

National Judicial Infrastructure Corporation: improve the productivity of the judiciary
The Issue
As per the Supreme Court of India, over 4.7 crore cases are pending in courts across all levels in the Indian Judiciary System. Media reports say over 180,000 cases have been pending since over 30 years. As per the statement of former Chief Justice of India, N.V Ramana, there is a huge vacancy in seats of judges in India. While India strives moving towards being a litigious society, justice is delayed and denied due to inadequate infrastructure and low judge-to-population ratio (21 judges per million population, 2022).
Expedited constitution of the previously conceived National Judicial Infrastructure Corporation with a particular focus on digitalisation and servicing for performing ancillary functions of the Indian Judiciary, which improves the productivity of the judiciary, thereby reducing the pending cases.
If people do respond to the call for action by signing the petition and vocalise for the change then the result will be increased impetus in the formation of the National Judicial Infrastructure Corporation which will eventually lead to streamlining in the procedures of the courts because reduced administrative hurdles in the Judicial procedures will lead to greater efficiency in the functioning of judicial bodies, consequently reducing the number of pending cases.
