Show your love for El Hogar – declare it as a National Cultural Treasure!

Let’s express our love for the heritage structure El Hogar. The building is known for its sophisticated design and is considered as Manila's crown jewel. It is of the Beaux Arts (pronounced as Bow-zart) style of architecture, which is basically characterized by “a lavish mix of reliefs and sculptures while moulding the surfaces (Zialcita),” like what you could see between its arches. Moreover, the structure is already 100 years of age, so it deserves to be protected.

We urge the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) to declare El Hogar as a National Cultural Treasure.

Coinciding with this petition is the Love Parade. Participants will gather in front of El Hogar to show their love for the structure by writing their wishes on paper hearts and sticking them on the wall surrounding the building.
