Rescue organizations are overwhelmed & having to turn animals away daily!

Billions of rands are being spent on Rescue instead of being used to boost our economy!

More than 4 million healthy animals are being euthanized/killed annually because there are no homes for them!

Sterilizing pets and a license to own a pet need to be mandatory! 

The punishment for neglect, abuse, cruelty, abandonment needs to be jail time, fines are not a deterrent!

Policing of the laws & by-laws protecting animals are hopelessly inadequate! Rescue organizations need to be given authority to act against perpetrators of any form of animal abuse, neglect, cruelty, abandonment!

Rescue organizations need to have the authority to force people to license, sterilize, vaccinate, microchip their pets!

Rescue organizations must be able to legally claim a minimum fee for surrenders (people abandoning their pets). Very often Rescue are having to cover the costs of sterilizing, vaccinating, microchipping, tick/flea & deworming animals before rehoming them.

Veterinary practices must have a mandate to inform clients to sterilize, microchip, vaccinate their pets. To provide basic education to stem the tide of unwanted puppies/kittens being born.

Veterinary practices must advise pet owners not to use a collar & lead when on the move with their pets. A harness & lead must be mandatory.

National Government need to ban the following breeds in SA to resolve a host of issues: -   Pittbulls. Northern Breeds (Huskies, Wolves, Hybrids) 

Animal Education needs to be included as a subject in the school curriculum.
