Ban IXL in American schools

The Issue

IXL is, at first glance, a useful online learning program. However, I and many other students are not particularly interested in staying up in the late hours of the night on this horrible program. Surveys showed that many children are stressed by this website's horrible design and would like to spend that extra two hours sleeping for a healthy amount of time. Schools tell us students that we need eight to ten hours of sleep, yet they assign time-consuming homework on this IXL that makes the schools contradict themselves. If the schools want what's best for their students, they should stop using IXL. I speak for every student in the United States when I say that we all want to spend less time working on IXL and more time sleeping like we should be. Most of us are trying to graduate, and not sleeping enough can and will reduce a student's chance of graduating. The only people benefitting from IXL are teachers. It's less work for a teacher to assign three or four sections of work on IXL and not realize that they're making their students stay up until 4:00 A.M. working on these seemingly impossible assignments. Even if this program is not banned, it at least needs a major redesign so it is less time-consuming to the students in desperate need of sleep.
