No, actually, something really good! The webpage is coming! An alert petition signer called the Michigan board and confirmed what the MVMA's attorney suggested in the email I received last week: anyone can submit a properly documented complaint. You do not have to be an client, a veterinarian or a resident of Michigan. The attorney's email also suggested that board complaints would perhaps be the better way to adress our concerns. National Geographic is going to have a hard time filming another season of the show without practicing vets to film! Sooooo.... the website will have a list of specific instances that petition signers have most commonly identified as showing substandard care, with the text of which state minimum standard it is violating. There will also be links to the full text of the standards, the instructions for filing a complaint with the Michigan board of veterinary medicine and the complaint forms that can be downloaded from the web.
