Yearly convocation by National Board of Examinations
0 have signed. Let’s get to 5,000!
The National Board of Examinations was established in 1975. Every year thousands of Postgraduate medical students and trainees appear for the Diplomate of National Board, and Fellowship exit exams and they are awarded degrees by the National Board. But there is a long wait for them to get their degrees as the convocation is not held on regular basis.
The last time convocation was held for them was in year 2014 since then there is no news for the next one. There is no information from the board also when the next one will be held. Every query to them returns with a vague answer or simply "We do not know" by the staff answering the mail. As per their 2015-2016 annual report a total of 3393 candidates cleared broad specialty exam, 405 super specialty, and 113 candidates cleared fellowship exit exams. And for the year 2014-2015, 2092 candidates cleared broad specialty exam, 380 for super specialty, and 112 candidates cleared fellowship exit exams.
Every student (thousands of them) who has since (2014) cleared the exam is waiting for the National Board of Examinations to organize their next convocation. There are thousands of students who are waiting to get their permanent degrees who only have a provisional degrees with them. This is unjust and unfair to these students and no other university or board has such a long wait.
This petition will help thousands of doctors who are on endless wait to be awarded degree by the board. All what National Board of Examinations has to do is conduct convocation on annual basis or at least biannually. The long unnecessary wait is frustrating, depressing and unjustified for any reason.
With this petition we hope that the National Board of Examinations would bring change in their policies helping thousands of candidates get their permanent degree in a timely manner.
