Brian Encinia the state trooper who arrested Sandra Bland has been indicted. Not for murder but for perjury. Apparently, the testimony he gave regarding the reasons he removed Sandra from her vehicle were not believed by the grand jury. Termination procedures to have the state trooper "fired" began shortly after the indictment was made. The penalty for perjury is up to one year in prison and a $4,000 fine. But that is not the indictment the family or public had been looking for. Sandra Bland is dead and someone other than sandra is responsible. The "proof" is in the lies, cover-up, and the withholding of the investigative report from the families attorney. Something officials in authority would not do if trying to convince the family and public that no "wrong doing" occurred after blaming the death on the victim herself. Something is very wrong when a young woman ends up dead after being in a jail cell she never should have been in, in the first place. And even more wrong, when the only fault found is with the victim herself. After lies upon lies, followed by "secrecy" concerning the contents of the investigative report, the indictment returned by the grand juror's is one of perjury - not murder! Sandra bland has been laid to rest but in no form or fashion should "the people" be doing the same. Her death and countless others including my own son, must receive a justice that is owed and due.
