Hello friends and family-
I have said it before, time slows down for no one. I am a few days over on my weekly update. I am not the type of person to pack the night before when I go out of town. It is a process, especially for an extended trip so I forgot to update on Sunday.
Speaking of trips, I am in Kentucky now. I left home Tuesday morning and made it to my Mom’s house in London, Kentucky late last night. Chopper traveled with me and he will stay at my Mom’s house temporarily while Kirsten and I get Kayne to LSU. Keagan is in charge of the house. He took my father & mother-in-law to the airport this morning so he accomplished one important task.
Kayne and Kirsten made it back to Kentucky last Monday for his evening radiation appointment. Kayne was feeling good so they went to the movies before his treatment.
Kayne & Kirsten finished therapy for the week, while I spent a few more days with all the family in Fort Myers, Florida. I left Fort Myers on Thursday and before I left for home, my cousin Paula whom I had not seen in over 30 years was there visiting her father. She saw on Facebook I was there and I stopped by to visit her and her girls on my way home. Love it or hate it, Facebook helps stay connected.
Keagan spent the week at home so he could get his swim workouts completed. We need the boy to show up in shape when he returns to FSU next month.
Kayne went to dinner at Olive Garden Saturday with his cousin’s, Emily and Erica and then they went bowling. He had some good cousin time playing X Box with the younger boys and they all went to the movies yesterday. They got some pool time in as well. I think the younger cousins enjoyed Kayne dunking them in the water.
Kirsten had some girl time with friends on Monday. She has been joining the girls on Monday nights for quilting and cross stitch. The main thing is time with the ladies.
Kayne said he felt pressure and had a mild headache one day last week and one day this week. So, they wanted to check and make sure there was no blockage in the ventricles. The doctors used a CT machine to check the area this morning before radiation. We were relieved to get a call letting us know they didn’t see any blockage, therefore the small headache might be due to the radiation. Kayne didn’t have a headache yesterday or today.
Kayne had his medical massage today and he also hit the pool to get in some laps.
In my Facebook history it showed our friends, the Hays had visited us at our home in Florida during the same time last year. Kayne was not home, he was in Kentucky. He spent three weeks at the Grandparents house. He said it was one of the best times of his life. He was on his own at times and he could spend time with his friends playing basketball, X Box and more. Not to mention reliving hitting the Skyline they used to walk to when we lived in the neighborhood. Kayne also got time in with Bill & Lila and all the kids at the lake during his vacation. I picked him up at the end of his trip and we spent the day driving home. We took some scenic routes along the way making it one long road trip home.
Kirsten and Kayne will be coming to London, Ky on Friday and we will finally be back together. We will visit with my family before returning to the Cincinnati area on Sunday.
We hope to have more solid details on the Dementor, the service dog by my update on Sunday night.
Please keep Kayne and our family in your prayers and have a blessed week.
