Dear family and friends, We hope the past week has been good for you all. We are one day away from the weekend. We have been busy! Kayne and Kirsten met me in London, Ky for a visit with family for the weekend. We spent the night with my Mom & Gary and she fixed her unbeatable scrambled eggs for us. (maybe just for Kayne) Kayne said hers are the only eggs he doesn’t use ketchup. Saturday afternoon, we visited with aunts, uncles, and cousins before heading with them to their church outing. It was at the Treetops in London, Ky. It is an obstacle course in the trees. It is challenging, but very cool. Kayne went through the blue course with his cousin, Casie & Andrew. He loved it. It pushed him to the limit with his balance and strength. He finished all the course except the last two obstacles. On Sunday, we visited with my step-mom Lisa and step-sister Kara for lunch. We went back to my Mom’s to have dinner with my sister Amy and nieces Haley, Siarra and Kendall. This week, we have had radiation and clinic on Monday. Kayne had a headache last week and more this week. Tylenol wasn’t cutting it so today they worked him in for a CT scan. The scan showed a flair on the left side so he got scheduled for a MRI at 330pm today. The MRI is over and tomorrow we will get the results when we meet with the care team at clinic following radiation. We will provide a brief update as soon as possible following tomorrow’s appointment. We are taking Kayne to Lake Cumberland where we will spend the weekend with Kirsten’s dad Bill & stepmom Lila and the large extended family of brothers, sisters and cousins. Kayne had a blast last year being at the lake with everyone last year and he has been looking forward to it. Kayne has been very strong this summer. Things have not gone the way we thought it would go and he has rolled with the punches and making the most of each day. The headaches are another obstacle and we ask for your prayers for a good reading of tomorrows MRI. Kayne’s service dog, Dementor arrives Monday with the trainer. It is finally here! Kayne has really been waiting for this day. Speaking of Dementor. His price is $23,000.00 plus expenses for the trainer to stay up here and train with Kayne. We had several fundraisers and request for donations. We raised approximately $15,000 and are $8,000.00 short of the goal. We know some people have already donated and we thank you. For those friends and family members whom have asked what they can do for us. This is a chance to help us. Please donate to our tax-deductible Cannonballs For Kayne Foundation. A small donation by many can help us to meet our goal. You can go to the website www.cannonballsforkayne.org or donate via Paypal at cannonballsforkayne@gmail.com A check can be sent to Cannonballs For Kayne foundation and mailed to P.O. Box 1738 Ormond Beach, Florida 32175 We thank everyone for their love and support. Look for an update soon. Curtis Curtis.finley@gmail.com (859) 991-0868
