Happy Fourth of July!

Hello family and friends! Kayne completed his first week of radiation at the UC Health Barrett Cancer Center. In case you missed it, they are staying with Kirsten's dad, Bill & Lila in Union, Ky which is a short drive to the center. Kayne had a low-key week and weekend. On Tuesday, June 27th he and Kirsten attended the Skyline Chili fundraiser in Union, Ky for the Cannonballs For Kayne Foundation. The event was organized by our friend Kim Clements and it was a good turnout. Kayne had a massage on Wednesday after radiation to help him relax and to work on the areas giving him difficulty from the steroid. Thursday was a Long Day for them. In addition to radiation for the day, they had to meet all the different members of the medical care team and they finished the day with physical therapy. Most of the family went to the lake this weekend, but Kayne opted out to be able to rest. This past month was packed with travel for the family with the Alaska trip, LSU trip and more. Although things have been packed and busy, we can't slow the time down as the months just keep ticking by. Here we are with another new month. Keagan and I are at the house in Florida with Chopper (Cat). He is swimming twice a day and working with me on some maintenance issues. He got all the screens washed and the inside windows cleaned this week. I'm not working him too hard since his friend Max Ambrose is staying with him for a few weeks. I also have some medical appointments until mid-July so I will be heading to Kentucky afterwards. Kayne and I did the interview with Special Books for Special Kids last week and it will be on Facebook Sunday night at 830 P.M. He had interviewed all the family with Kayne except for me so I was happy to finally have my segment. Kayne will continue radiation daily this week except for Tuesday July 4th which is a holiday. He meets the medical team for review of blood work and stuff tomorrow, Monday, July 3rd. Kirsten's aunt and uncle, Darlene & Bill Bassett have been getting together with all the kids in Estero Beach, Florida for decades. We began going over every year so we could see the family and the boys could hang out with all the cousins. This year the week is July 8-15. Kayne and Kirsten can't stay the week, but they are coming down for the weekend, returning Monday the 10th for radiation. We so wish it was different, but it is what it is and we must play the hand. It can play on your mind as you get disappointed for Kayne and his summer. We continue to pray and trust the Lord will get us through radiation and to LSU in August. As always, I pray for a total healing by God for Kayne. I know he is the only one capable of healing Kayne.
