MRI midweek update

Hello everyone, I wish I had different news than the one I must share to update you today. Kayne has had a couple of good weeks and we are thankful. In case you are not aware and missed an update, Kayne had his April MRI and there were three watch spots. The spots could have been new disease, fragments from the radiation or marks from the chemo pill. Unfortunately, yesterday’s MRI shows Kayne has new disease in two of the spots. It is more defined now and the doctors can tell it is a tumor. The tumor in his Pons is stable so the radiation worked, but possibly it wasn’t strong enough to reach or stop the areas where this is in the “intraventricular frontal horns.” This progression now excludes him from continuing the clinical trial study. What’s next? We don’t quite have that worked out. We have an appointment with the eye surgeon this morning at 10am to check his eye. We also have a meeting with the Cincinnati team at 4pm today to discuss options and things to consider. Kayne has requested a service dog and his care team is now in the process of trying to get in contact with someone who can help in this area.
