Repeal Georgia's Dangerous 2015 Fireworks Law

The Issue

Beginning July 1, 2015, fireworks of almost any kind became legal in Georgia, for anyone, anywhere to set off, year round, during almost all hours of the night.  Fireworks can be set off in residential neighborhoods until midnight year round, and until 2 a.m. 4th of July and New Years Eve.

This disturbs families, who cannot sleep through all the racket. This terrifies animals, who cannot understand what is happening. It paralyzes veterans who hear the noises and are reminded of bombs and guns.  It leads to increased fires and burns by people setting off large displays when they don't now how to do it safely.

It's one thing to have fireworks on 4th of July, but there is no need to do it on a school night, in residential areas, around neighbors who are denied quiet enjoyment of their homes without any say over it.
