Vote 'Yes' to move the Narragansett Library to the Pier Marketplace Belmont Market building

Last November residents of the town of Narragansett, RI were asked to vote on Ballot Question #8 which compels the town council to vote on the moving the currently small and out-dated town library to the large space in the Pier Marketplace previously occupied by Belmont Market. The ballot question includes budget numbers for the purchase of the building as well as renovation costs. The result would be a new state-of-the-art library and community facility for the people of Narragansett.
The people spoke last November and voted "Yes" by a 2 to 1 margin. On Monday, October 16th, 2017 at 7:30pm the town council will meet at Narragansett High School for a final vote on whether or not to proceed with the move and renovation. A "no" vote would mean nothing will happen for the foreseeable future.
We're asking the democratically elected members of the town council to honor the will of the people and vote "Yes". We look forward to using and enjoying our new library in the center of the pier as soon as renovations are complete!
