Tarak Fatah is a voice of reason, he is a true son of soil and loves mother India as his own. Though he was born in Pakistan, he calls himself "An Indian born in Pakistan". He would be honored to receive an honorary Indian citizenship and we as Indian intellectuals owe it to him. Mother India has a tradition of opening up and accepting loved ones with open arms. We need to set an example as a nation for this true son of soil and sign this petition. 

This petition is to urge the Indian government to honor Tarek Fatah and bestow Indian citizenship to him. 

Tarek Fatah (born November 20, 1949) is a Canadian writer, broadcaster, secularist and liberal activist.  Fatah advocates gay rights, a separation of religion and state, opposition to sharia law, and advocacy for a "liberal, progressive form" of Islam. Some of his activism and statements have been met with criticism from Canadian Muslim groups.

He is a true liberal muslim who can be a role model for modern millennial muslims. He is a beacon of hope, human rights and a true intellectual. 

Let's set an example for all our peace loving pakistani brothers / sisters and accept Tarek Fatah as a beacon of peace and hope and accept him as one of our own.
