Save Mt. George!

Since the notice of potential school closures in June, Superintendent Mucetti and the Board of Trustees have shown a lack of transparency or regard for the students and community of Napa County.  Schools are being closed with minimal notification, and with no known plan for relocation of students, programs, and teachers. Parents, students and community members have lost confidence in the NVUSD's ability to represent them. Parents & community members have not yet received accurate data and budget information as requested in June through a formal public records request.

Today it is Mt. George and Yountville Elementary School on the chopping board, next year, it could be your child's school. We need to band together as a community and keep our schools open!

The Facts:

• ● Mt. George is the least expensive to operate of the four small schools;
  ● The sale of Mt. George would generate little revenue for the District because the uses of the property are severely restricted by the County’s Zoning Code.
  ● Mt. George has had consistent enrollment despite declining enrollment District-wide.
• The schools district intentionally deflated 2019 enrollment to justify their case
  ● There is a demand for Mt. George that exceeds the number of students being admitted by the District.
  ● Mt. George is an educational leader and provides a unique and rigorous educational program that is
  consistent with the District’s strategic plan and long-term goals.
• ●There are monies available to keep the district above the necessary 3% reserves. " The Farm" just sold for  $8 million.

Without your support, Mt. George will close- displacing 250 children from their school. Mt. George is not just a school, but community, and we need your help!
