We are requesting the Millersville University Office of the President and Council of Trustees to name WIXQ, Millersville University’s college radio station, in commemoration of Ralph “Doc Roc” Anttonen, and in honor of his wife, Judy “Mama Roc” Anttonen.

This is in recognition of all Doc and Mama have done for the University, meeting the “guidelines for determining the appropriateness of naming” as set forth in the Administrative Policy: Naming of University Owned Facilities.

We also request the Millersville University Office of the President and Council of Trustees to consider naming the station on behalf of Doc and Mama without requiring additional funds be raised to do so; rather, in lieu of exchanging funds for naming rights, we ask the Millersville University Office of the President and Council of Trustees to continue to lead with the core EPPIIC value of compassion, and name the station in recognition of all Doc and Mama have done for the University.

In return, we believe the many people Doc and Mama touched will be impressed by this gesture, which will sow the seeds of giving and contribute substantially to the development and destiny of the University. A representative from our group has already met with the Advancement Division to discuss fundraising efforts for the university/radio station, and will continue to do so; however, again, we ask that naming the station not be contingent upon raising these funds.

In recognition of their decades of service, and their impact on countless alumni/members of the Millersville community, we humbly ask that the Office of the President and the Council of Trustees commemorate Doc, and honor Mama, by naming the station on their behalf.

We are not asking to change the call letters "WIXQ"; rather, we are asking to name the station or the space in which the station is housed.
