The National Union of Namibian Workers and it Affiliate Unions, is hereby calling on the Namibian public and any sympathetic individual to sign this petition against the liquidation of the National Carrier.

The Government unconditionally stops the liquidation process with immediate effect and save the national airline, employment of the airline employees and related stakeholders.

We request the head of state of a sovereign Republic of Namibia, His Excellency Dr. Hage Geingob to relieve with immediate effect Hon Leon Jooste, MP and Minister of Public Enterprises from all his responsibilities related to public office in the Republic of Namibia because of the following reason.

He chose to go and negotiate issues relating to Air Namibia singularly without the involvement of board and management structures, which serves as a clear testimony, that he has vested interest in the liquidation of Air Namibia.

That Hon Jooste made himself un-trustable and therefore unfit to hold public office, in this instance, he has betrayed the mandate bestowed upon him to oversee profitability of state owned commercial enterprises, which he is now busy ridding off instead.

We demand that the SWAPO Party acts in the interest of the Namibian nation by withdrawing Hon Jooste from the list of SWAPO Party members of parliament and also from the parliament of the Republic of Namibia.

NUNW therefore calls upon all citizens of Namibia to stand by these demands and save the nation from deliberate total economic collapse.
