Name the North-east field at Legion Branch 96, Brockville after Boyd and Wilma Caldwell
The Issue
Boyd and Wilma Caldwell dedicated their lives to advancing local sports and working with others to build a supportive, safe community in Brockville, Ontario. Through their tireless work they have been role models and mentors to many young athletes and community members, fosteringteamwork, sportsmanship, and life lessons that sports bring.
The Caldwells have been pillars of our small community by actively participating in every aspect of sports development and management. They not only raised funds, canvassed local and provincial governments for support, and coached hockey and baseball teams but often took on personal tasks like scorekeeping, promotion, stats, and groundskeeping to maintain the quality of local facilities. Their efforts even extended to builfing the north-east baseball diamond at the Legion Branch 96, which stands as a testament to their commitment and passion.
Naming the north-east baseball field in their honour would be a fitting tribute to their 5+ decades of hard work and love for local athletes, their families, and of course, sports. It would be an acknowledgment of their contributions and ensure their legacy lives on, inspiring future generations to contribute to their community.
Please support this cause and help us in honouring Boyd and Wilma Caldwell by signing this campaign (not really a petition).
