For over 31 years, father and son. Mike and Joe Garbowski, have shown tireless dedication and passion that has been the backbone of the New Fairfield baseball program. These men are not just coaches; they are legends who have built a tremendous program and fostered a culture of respect, discipline, and excellence. Their name is synonymous with the success and growth of our community’s young athletes. We believe it's time to honor their outstanding contributions by naming Rebel Baseball Field after them; Garbowski Field.

Throughout his tenure, Coach Joe Garbowski has dedicated countless hours not just to the game but to the very foundation it is played on. His commitment goes beyond coaching; he has personally rebuilt and meticulously maintained the field, ensuring it is in pristine condition for every single game played there. His efforts extend to taking care of other NF fields, creating an environment where athletes and fans alike take pride in their community. Coach Mike Garbowski has 27 been coaching the New Fairfield Rebels for over 25 years, but unfortunately just retired due to his Parkinson's disease.

The field is a testament to their hard work and dedication, a place where young athletes have thrived  under their guidance and where memories are made. No other field around has the same level of care and attention poured into it, making it a symbol of what can be achieved with heart and perseverance. Coach Mike has transformed it into more than just a field; it is a part of our town’s identity and history.

By renaming Rebel Baseball Field to Garbowski Field, we are acknowledging these decades of remarkable service. It is a fitting tribute to honor someone who has given so much to our community and its youth.
