NakakaTATAG pa ba ang MATATAG Curriculum?

The Issue

MATATAG Curriculum have been implemented by Sara Z. Duterte administration. In the current days MATATAG Curriculum has affected not only our educators but also the students under this curriculum. The teachers is affected because of the 45 minutes allotted for teaching per subject. As a result the teachers cannot express the knowledge or teach the lessons more effectively because of the short period of time allotted for teaching. The students is also affected with this problem because there's a tendency that there will be a gap interms of learning of the student. In Senior High School department case, MATATAG Curriculum states that their should be 1 hour allotted per subject, as a result the students have enough time for their subject however it also lessen the time at home for the students. At Sto. Cristo National High School especially SHS morning shift the class started at 6:00am and ended at 3:30pm, this only means that they only have several hours to do their household choir and assignment and afterwards go to school. MATATAG Curriculum is not nakakatatag at all though the intention or the mission is good teh effect for both the educators and the students' are not good.

If MATATAG Curriculum stays or implemented to the following year, the crisis in education will be burdensome to teachers and students. Burdensome to teachers because they will feel exhausted because of the work loads and the time allotted to teach. Burdensome to students because if this curriculum to continue there's a high tendency that the gap in education will increase, the level of critical thinking skills, problem-solving skills, comprehension, reading, writing skills etc... will be at a critical level. If the previous curriculum will continue the education system will be back to normal again where teachers have enough time to teach and students have a less hectic schedule.

This effect is not only happening in the schools at San Jose del Monte Bulacan but also to majority of publics school in the Philippines where the teachers are exhausted because of the teaching loads. That's why it is important to take action now as the first phase of MATATAG Curriculum is implemented at primary schools and expected to finish at 2027 at grade 10. This petition will not only help the students' who are the hope of our country but also the educators who are the instrument of gaining knowledge that we use in  real life. Take the action now before it's to late. We are still recovering to the impact of COVID 19 has implicated to our education sectors, Let us not allow to add more implications to our education sector because in the end we, the Filipino students will suffer from this curriculum.
