We are heartbroken to share that Jonathan Bryan, the founder and voice behind this campaign, passed away last week. Jonathan changed countless lives with his unwavering belief that all children—regardless of their disabilities—deserve to be taught to read and write.
Though Jonathan is no longer with us, his voice echoes louder than ever through Teach Us Too, the charity he inspired, and through every family, teacher, and policymaker he moved to action.
Jonathan’s Legacy Continues
Policy influence: Before his passing, Jonathan served on FLARE, the Department for Education’s national SEND advisory group. He took part in two round‑table meetings with the Minister for SEND, making the case for literacy access for all children—regardless of labels.
Free training for educators and families: Teach Us Too continues to offer expert-led webinars for teachers and parents giving practical tools to help children with complex needs learn to read and write.
Inspiration to others: Jonathan’s story continues to be shared in schools, teacher training, Parliament, and homes across the country.
How You Can Help
Keep sharing the campaign: Though Jonathan has gone, his message has never been more urgent. Every signature keeps the pressure on leaders to stop using labels as an excuse. Let's get the number of signatures to reach 1,000,000 in his name.
Attend a training: These are free and vital for equipping more adults with the tools to teach literacy to non-verbal children.
Tell Jonathan’s story: Share how he inspired you, your family, or your school. Every voice added to this movement helps honour his mission.
Let’s keep his legacy alive by continuing to fight for every child to be taught to read and write.
