Attention all Booker High School students! Please sign this petition if you would be interested in taking a multicultural studies class at Booker. Multicultural Studies is a class where students learn about the history and oppression of various racial groups here in the United States. Currently, Booker does not offer this class. By signing this petition, we can demonstrate to our administration that students would be interested in taking this class and can convince them to offer this class next school year. We need to have at least 15 students interested in taking a social studies course for it to be offered at Booker- hence, we need at least 15 students to sign our petition so we can try to convince our school leaders to have this awesome course offered at Booker! Our petition will be presented to administration before the end of the year. 

It is vital that this class is offered; offering this class will provide greater representation amongst our social studies classes, and will educate our students on the struggles of colored communities. Furthermore, offering this class will break the cycle of ethnocentric content that we see in our history/social studies classes. Let's empower our students by acknowledging the struggle of marginalized communities and by allowing us to drink deeply from the cup of knowledge! Please sign!
