The old MySpace, even the new look they offered in 2009, was just an incredible site. It was simple yet customizable to your liking, the excitement you got over those few words hovering over your message box on the home screen. The nostalgia of it all just brings back good memories. It was a social network without taking the "social" part out of every day life. The limit of 160 characters for a status made to update your profile yet not tell your whole life, the bulletin boards, and silly quizzes. Every time you got a "new message" or "new photo comment", it made you appreciate it all the more than just a dinky little number at the top of an icon. Seeing a user was online, but knowing MySpace wasn't keeping tabs on you 24/7. They simply would say the date you were last online, not how many minutes ago. It was a private site yet a personal one. The awesome yet sometimes annoying playlist profiles you couldn't help but listen to at times.

This wonderful way of connecting with people needs to be brought back to all it's former glory. Millions of users would log on every day, now it's less than a million that log on. The "new" MySpace is a disappointment, a failed attempt to make music and fame something to desire. It's glitchy and slow, and there are millions of dead accounts due to this. Let's bring it back to what it was, "a place for friends", a true social network that generally got you excited to be on there and connect with friends and even the occasional celebrity. It was so much more than just that, all these different "social" sites now could easily be combined all into one with the Classic MySpace. So sign my petition and let's make it happen!
