Hello! My name is Ilia Simon, I am the proud owner of 3 dogs. Unfortunately my youngest pitbull mix was shot by a neighbor. His name is Bean Simon, and this is his story of survival.

  On May 28 2026, around 7:30 I was at work when I was notified about a gunshot that was heard. Right away I was texting my parents if my dogs were okay and if they were home. They let me know Tosguna police were at my house. I left my work at 8 pm to make sure my Bean was safe. Apon arriving I seen my poor pup with the biggest open wound on his right shoulder. He was shot by a powerful gun, it was no 22 rifle. He was across the road when it was fired, and with his broken front leg. He was able to make it all the way back home. My Bean was fighting for survival and I was fighting for him. This gun cause some serious damage to my boy. It cost him his leg. Right away my dad and I took him to Petzoic Vet Hospital. There he was kept from May 28th to June 3rd. Bean is now safe and sound at home.    After Tosguna left my house on the 28th, they had 3 cop cars going door to door asking if they heard anything.  The next day 29th, my dad followed the blood trail. When he came back home, I went with him to mark all the blood we could find. During this time the police called my dad, we notified them on what we were doing.  After 2-3 hours of waiting Tosguna police finally came to take pictures. They took the pictures and left, we have not heard from them since. This happened on the 29th of May, it is now June 4th. A week and no update about my dogs case.    The perpetrator that had the gun was not thinking right, we have houses surrounding us. And to fire a gun so close with children outside. Either way I hope and prey that the police find them. But with this much time that has passed, I am afraid they hid the gun or sold it. I am desperate for answers not for myself but for my strong pup. The one who notified me while at work was a family member. They live below us, and their children were outside when the gun was shot. It scares me to think what might have happened if that bullet missed.    My Bean Simon was never a fighter or dangerous. He's only 1 and is discovering the world, he is the most friendly guy. The vets loved him, they told me he was the most happiest dog they have seen. He knew he was getting help, because not once has he tried biting/fighting back with the vet.    All I ask is for you to share his fighting story of survival.
