Subject: Regarding sanctioned Rail route Sainthia to Chowrigacha via Kandi (56.50 KM) Dist. Murshidabad.

 

Respected sir,

With due respect We want to bring a notice regarding the sanctioned Rail route Sainthia to Chowrigacha via Kandi (56.50 KM) Dist. Murshidabad. Earlier this route was sanctioned in the Railway budget 2009-10. After that, work was started primarily. However the work has been kept in abeyance by the Railway board.

Our district Murshidabad is the one of the backward districts all over India and there is a population of 7,103,807 according to the 2011 census.There is one subdivision in Murshidabad Dist. is "Kandi" and has no Rail route. People of Kandi subdivision go a minimum 41 km to catch the train at Sainthia (SNT) or Berhampore (BPC) or Salar (SALE) Station. We people of Kandi always depend on Bus services which is very painful.

We mailed several times on this matter because we are safer on a daily basis. After Independence of India we spent 75 years but still rail communication was not implemented at the old historical city and subdivision "Kandi" district of Murshidabad. Kandi is the only subdivision in West Bengal where there is no rail communication.     

Our humble request to you kindly look into this matter.

We know there are many processes to build a Rail project but if you put your valuable concern about this route we people of Kandi,West Bengal will be grateful to you sir.
