BACKGROUND: Forest Club located in Hiranandani Gardens Powai, Mumbai 400076 falling Under Ward S in an agreement with MCGM was In charge of the Tennis Courts. The tennis courts come under MCGM and is displayed very clearly outside of the courts. Hiranandani Facility maintenance dept was however maintaining the courts regularly. Allowing Hiranandani residents to book during particular time slots. and Open to all timings for coaching and others to play throughout the day

In a Recent Event. A few Residents of BMC WARD-S had complained about not having access to the courts to play. In return MCGM has taken over the charge of the courts and made it a public Amenity. Hiranandani which is no longer obligated to maintain the courts have taken out the electric connection for lights, the Nets and other essentials required to play tennis.

The current situation is that the courts are no longer playable for members and children who have been playing and training for decades. Nextly, since the gates are not locked anymore, during late evenings the courts are occupied by couples doing all sort of things. The courts are in the middle of a forest and not very safe for bad things to happen.

The objective of the courts to be made to public was to allow public to have access to tennis courts. This could be done by giving back the charge to Hiranandani and coming out to an alternative arrangement.

Request all to sign the petition who are in favor of having the courts under the authority of Hiranandani. As with Authority they were also taking responsibility. For people requiring access we could come with some kind of arrangements. But we want to restore the sanity of the sport and the purpose of having the tennis courts.
