Catelynn and Tyler Baltierra continue to be employed by MTV for exploiting a child that they placed for adoption nearly 16 years ago.

They do not and have never parented this child, yet have their entire financial position and ability to abuse and manipulate their audience with their platform thanks to this exploitation. 

This child has been forced into the spotlight without their consent, or the consent of their real parents (Brandon and Theresa) for over a decade since it was made clear to the Baltierras that it is against Carlys families wishes to be spoken about so publicly. 

They continuously call themselves her parents, call her THEIR CHILD. Their emotionally stunted and uneducated fan base write hundreds of thousands of nasty comments directed at an innocent family attempting to give Carly exactly what they promised to - A NORMAL LIFE.

Carly is now a teenager who has met these people a handful of times in her whole life, she is not a missing puppy or a child in a co-parenting relationship. Catelynn and Tyler are strangers to her. If she decides to forge a relationship (because one does not exist yet), it will be initiated by her, not steamrolled into her life, thanks to her courageous parents Brandon and Theresa who are protecting her from this damaging, selfish and horrific display. 

The MTV views are causing a cycle of vicious abuse and gossip relating to this family, and all because MTV continues to give them a platform. 

Catelynn and Tyler have repeatedly expressed that it is their "right" to speak on these things as it is "their" experience, though as fans have been able to see in recent years, they are NOT talking about their own experience, but are posting continuously damaging misinformation, survey results disguised as data, severely filtered stories and experiences of adoptees and assumptions about Carly AND the Adoptee community, which I am proudly a part of. 

Tyler also heavily criticises parents who adopt children as a result of infertility struggles while belittling and dehumanising their desire to provide a loving and nurturing home to children without one. He states that adoption is not a fix to infertility trauma - no one says it is.

He is diminishing loving homes to push his storyline, while he himself comes from a family of devastatingly uneducated violent abusers, drug addicts, absentee, neglectful and poverty stricken people that would not have been able to raise Carly in a better environment.

He implies that it was Brandon and Theresas job to provide after care to Cate and Tyler and family reunification is the goal - their familial failures combined with their irresponsible choices of having (self proclaimed) unprotected sex as teenagers is not the burden of Brandon and Theresas to carry. 

Instead of complaining so much about what THEY gave up and THEY sacrificed, they need to appreciate what was given TO THEM - peace of mind and assurance that their child was raised AWAY from the hurricane of instability in their lives, while being loved and protected. 

Their wildly emotionally damaging behavior is being rewarded in the form of two half a million dollar pay checks each year from MTV, to be filmed spewing the same hate speech on repeat. The story they are telling is not theirs to tell, if it were, it would be focused on how bio parents feel, not adoptees. 

Tyler had "addressed" this criticism by saying that he does not need to be the target of the oppression to be an advocate such as an advocate for POC or the LGBTQ+ community, but WE ADOPTEES say to that: 

Be an ALLY, but do NOT put yourself front and centre and be our spokesperson, amplify OUR voices - ALL of our voices, not only the ones that fit your experience. Do NOT be the white guy at the BLM march taking the spotlight, do not be the straight guy speaking on behalf of the LGBTQ+ community. Be an ALLY. You are NOT US. 

Catelynn and Tyler need their platform and large pay checks immediately revoked so they are forced to live in and contribute to THE REAL WORLD. The world that their forgotten 3 daughters live in, in the shadow of Carly. Their "big sister" that they don't even know but have been forced to care for, for all these years. Catelynn went as far as to tell Nova that when she was born it was like "God cloned Carly for us".

Take them off the air, force them into earning a living by working like the real world does. Maybe they can attempt to finish one of the dozen qualifications they wanted.

For those that agree, please boycott watching TM, or at least stop paying to watch it. Let this beaten horse die.
