For years, Chris Hansen and the To Catch a Predator crew brought meaningful change to our society by being a child predator’s worst nightmare. Not only did it help get dangerous people out of circulation and away from our children, but it shamed them enough to scare other potential predators away from trying to trap and victimize this nation’s youth. The world has changed so much since the early 2000’s. The information and resources available to both children and criminals who would target them is exponentially greater than it was when TCaP was on air. In 2020, internet video services make television almost irrelevant, while at the same time providing more revenue opportunities than ever. The publicity that predators would receive is unbelievably greater. A simple YouTube search proves that old TCaP clips have amassed millions of views, with every clip being more satisfying than the last.
