Dear Valued Supporters,
Why did Ms Christine Holgate resign when it was apparently unlawful to stand her down?
Ms Christine Holgate has written a lengthy resignation letter. I have made my comments on that letter paragraph by paragraph to give you and my future supporters an idea that her resignation does not mention anything about the ongoing corruption and cover ups at all. There is no apology for that unacceptable conduct which is clearly identified over a period of FOURTEEN and a HALF years. She was contacted by me numerous times but she never responded to my letters, faxes, emails and phone calls.
As per her lawyer, it appears that standing her down could be unlawful. If not outright unlawful, it was at least unfair, unjust, unreasonable and unwarranted.
The following is her lawyers’ Public Statement.
"Ms Holgate has not had any proper notification that she has been stood down from her role, nor has she been informed as to why she should be stood down," Bryan Belling, partner at employment law firm Kingston Reid, said in a statement.
"Legally, in my opinion there are no grounds for Ms Holgate to be stood down, and 'optics' [is] not a legally-valid defence."
If this is true then why did she resign? Please read what her resignation letters says and my comments on what she wrote. “C” stands for Christine and “V” stands for Vasant.
“CHRISTINE HOLGATE OFFERS RESIGNATION AS CEO OF AUSTRALIA POST”
C. I have offered today the Chairman and Board of Australia Post, with great sadness, my resignation as Chief Executive with immediate effect.
V. What was so compelling to resign with immediate effect?
C. I am not seeking any financial compensation.
V. Why? When the Prime Minister of Australia has humiliated her why forgo $700, 000?
C. As Christmas approaches it is critically important that Australia Post is absolutely focussed on supporting our customers and communities. We have prepared significantly for this peak, but we still face significant challenges - keeping our people safe, managing the biggest ecommerce Christmas ever and planning in the face of unpredictable seasonal weather. I firmly believe the ‘ship’ needs a strong captain at the helm to help navigate through this time.
V. If the ship needed a strong captain why not wait till that captain is found and appointed? She obviously did not consider Mr. Rodney Boys as that strong captain who was appointed as Acting CEO and MD on 22 October 2020 which was much before she resigned on 2 November 2020.
C. The current issue I am managing is a significant distraction and I do not believe it is good for either Australia Post or my own personal wellbeing.
V. It was made very clear by her Employment Lawyer that standing her down was improper and she was not informed in writing why she needed to stand down. Obviously, it appears to be against the Employments laws.
What was the significant distraction?
Was it the Cartier Watches she gave as gifts that angered the PM or was it something else that the successive PM’s knew? That was about the ongoing corruption and cover ups in Australia Post that Ms Holgate was ignoring for the entire duration she was the Group CEO and Managing Director.
My concerns were brought to the attention of the Prime Minister long before her resignation. Managing that ongoing current issue, where she remained silent reached the boiling point and that was not good for Australia Post because the PM and the Shareholder Ministers have had enough of the cover ups that Ms Holgate failed to address. Her personal wellbeing was a concern to Ms Holgate. That was not because of the Cartier watches she gave as gifts because $19950 was very much insignificant amount for her looking at her personal wealth and the $700,000 she was ready to forgo.
Her silence on the documented corruption and cover ups involving numerous Australia Post officials in the Headquarters of Australia Post in Melbourne allegedly made her part of them covering up the truth. This fact is known to numerous politicians from every side of politics for number of years. Obviously, she was concerned that if her silence on the cover ups becomes public she had nowhere to go even if she returned the $19950 to Australia Post and thereby to the Tax payers. This is where her immediate and unwarranted resignation came from is my view.
C. Consequently, I have made the difficult decision to resign, hoping it will allow the organisation to fully focus on serving our customers. I have had the privilege to lead Australia Post for three years, and I am so proud of what we have achieved together over this time.
V. The decision to resign was never difficult because her alleged unacceptable conduct of remaining silent on unacceptable conduct of numerous high-ranking employees of Australia Post in the Headquarters was very well known to many in the Parliament House for number of years. I suggested her to resign if she could not handle the corruption and crimes cover ups long before she resigned. Her all the paths to cover ups the documented cover ups hit the dead ends and the only option left for her was to resign. Cartier watches was an excellent Smokescreen because the media made this as a big story and linked her resignation to these Cartier Watches. She is proud of what they have achieved together but she will regret what they have covered up together in the future.
C. Our recent financial results delivered a record revenue of $7.5bn, up $500m or 7% and our profits before tax rose 30% to $53.6m for the year. This was our highest ever revenue growth in a year without acquiring a major asset. Our business transformation accelerated, we kept our people safe, we invested whilst avoiding a loss, unlike many of our international peers. Enabling almost 2000 Posties to deliver parcels in vans created an opportunity for their roles to be sustainable and to serve our country better. Our strong parcel, services and international cross-border ecommerce businesses, all helped compensate for having 400m fewer letters, covered $242m in letter losses and we still delivered a profit. Australia Post’s first quarter revenues of over $2bn are up 15%; domestic parcels added $338m and pleasingly our post office revenues grew 19%. Putting this in perspective, Australia Post delivered more growth in parcel revenues in the first quarter than for the whole of 2018. Since COVID began Australia Post has delivered 300 million parcels, with parcels now representing over 67% of our business, whilst facilitating 82% of Australia’s ecommerce, adding a further $4.2bn in economic contribution to our country. The COVID crisis has changed the retail landscape of Australia forever and I am immensely proud of the significant role Australia Post has played in making this happen.
V. With all these extra-ordinary achievements where was the need to resign with immediate effect? With the law on her side, she could have stayed away for a month and proved that she did not do anything wrong. What else was troubling her that she could not handle?
It was, in my view, my petition to her on Change.org platform that is now signed and supported by 21231 supporters from across Australia. It has many updates and documents posted that prove beyond any reasonable doubt about the corruption, cover ups, fabrications, manipulations, records tampering, truth hiding and crimes cover ups by Australia Post officials from June 2006. Many have allegedly run away from their long term and highly likely exorbitantly paid jobs. Ms Holgate and Mr. Ahmed Fahour are among those that have left. Mr Fahour’s resignation was linked to his $ 5.6 Million remuneration and that was also a FAKE NEWS at the time because he was also sitting on the documented corruption and cover ups during his almost entire over 7 years at Australia Post as the Group CEO and Managing Director. He dismally failed to address the cover ups as well.
C. I have always sought to recognise and thank the efforts of our 80,000 strong extended team, as together they are the real heroes behind our results. Philosophically, I believe if you want to drive positive change, you need to thank and reward positive behaviours. However, I deeply regret that a decision made two years ago, which was supported by the Chair, to recognise the outstanding work of four employees has caused so much debate and distraction and I appreciate the optics of the gifts involved do not pass the “pub test” for many. I still believe firmly that the people who achieved the Bank@Post outcome for Australia Post deserved recognition, their work secured a $220m investment over the following years, which dramatically improved the financial performance of the company, protected a critical community service which more than 50% of the communities in Australia depend on and made our Community Post Offices sustainable for the long term.
V. If Ms Holgate has resigned because her Cartier watches, given as gifts, story does not pass the so called “Pub Test” then what will happen if the story of her unacceptable conduct of protecting the numerous Australia Post officials engaged in the documented corruption and cover ups become public? Will it pass any test? Should it result in possible prosecutions?
Will it result in the Parliamentary investigations? Will it result in the lost trust in her and her team? Will it result in finding out the true reasons for the exodus of Australia Post officials involved in these matters from Australia Post’s lucrative jobs? Will it and should it result in a Royal Commission?
C. I will make myself readily available to participate in the investigation of this matter and any other issues of possible concern.
V. Any other issues must include her wilful silence on documented corruption and crimes cover ups involving Australia Post officials-past and present.
C. I have no animosity towards the Government and have enjoyed working with the Prime Minister, the Shareholder Ministers and many other political leaders during my tenure.
V. Well, her resignation has calmed down the Prime Minister, the shareholder Ministers and others is my view. They do not even want to release the investigation report that was received by the government to the people of this nation as previously indicated.
Her lawyer, on her behalf, had a problem with the Prime Minister for humiliating his client nationwide. So, what has suddenly happened? Why would Ms Holgate have any animosity towards the government that has helped her by remaining silent themselves about my concerns about Ms Holgate and her team on an ongoing basis and that includes the Prime Minister and the Shareholder Ministers. Two of the Shareholder Ministers that remained silent throughout their tenure on the corruption and cover ups of Australia Post officials are the Hon Mitch Fifield and the Hon Mathias Cormann. Both have now quit politics after dismally failing to help me to hold Australia Post to account including Ms Holgate. Mr. Fifield was the Minister for Communications and Mr Cormann was the Minister for Finance.
C. I am deeply appreciative of the significant support I have received from our people, our customers, our partners – especially our Community Licensed Post Offices and individuals across the country. I have made this difficult decision to leave to enable Australia Post to be able to fully focus on delivering for our customers.
V. Ms Holgate continuously calling her resignation as a difficult decision does not hold any water. This was the simple decision for her and the Cartier Watches story helped her enormously to make her decision to resign even simpler. She knew that her silence on the documented corruption and crimes cover ups is going to get her one day because her supporters were quitting politics. Her many supporters in Australia Post had already left their jobs. I will name those that have left Australia Post jobs after failing to stop me to continue with this matter to hold the wrongdoers to account little later.
C. My sincere apologies if my words or actions have offended others as this would never have been my intention because I have always held Australia Post in the greatest regard. Australia Post is growing and now has a strong viable future where our Community Post Offices can flourish, our Posties and delivery teams maintain their roles, communities secure ongoing services and one which can support the economic recovery of our country.
V. If Ms Holgate is apologising as mentioned above and if she has held Australia Post in the greatest regard then there was no need for her to breach the well-publicised Ethical Standards of Australia Post applicable to her and all the others working for Australia Post.
Ms Holgate never ever apologised for inflicting pain and suffering and psychological torture on my family by her silence on documented corruption and cover ups spanning over FOURTEEN AND A HALF YEARS by the unacceptable conduct of numerous officials of Australia Post.
Ms Holgate’s resignation deserves full scale investigations by the independent and impartial people to restore the lost trust in Australia Post and this investigation must include Mr. Ahmed Fahour as well for his sudden resignation that was not satisfactorily explained. He was sitting on the same documented corruption and cover ups for the entire over SEVEN YEARS he was the Group CEO and Managing Director of Australia Post.
C. Christine Holgate.
V. Ms Holgate’s lengthy resignation letter has given me opportunity to comment on it and I hope she will not hesitate to come up with the truth as she is no longer bound by any restrictions to speak out.
I am ready to see her anytime if she wants to participate in eradicating corruption in Australia starting from Australia Post.
To know more please go through my petition and all the updates so far to see the efforts that have gone into finding the truth. That truth is still hidden from us and the fight for justice will continue no matter who leads Australia Post.
This is my FIFTEENTH Annual Leave that I am spending to fight for justice for may family. Ms Holgate can demand $700,000 dollars entitlement that she wants to forgo and use that money for making our country corruption free and free society. After all she has made Australia home just like we have. She is expected to fight corruption. If this money goes back to the government there is no guarantee that it will be used to fight corruption as they are unable to establish a FEDERAL ICAC with teeth for this long.
I challenge both Mr Fahour and Ms Holgate to answer my questions publicly as to why my Identity theft needed to be covered up for this long as they are no longer the employees of Australia Post and expected to talk freely. This is my view.
The above comments are my views and my beliefs based on my ongoing fight for justice where the cover ups were initiated by Australia Post officials back from 15 June 2006 and have continued to this day. This unprecedented matter has exposed corruption culture in every democratic process that was followed by me only to hit the brick wall at every step.
Please help my family to get justice.
