Many athletic teams including football, soccer and lacrosse use the incredible turf field at Penfield High School every day of spring, summer and fall.

It is not unusual to see soccer leaving so football can start, and then lacrosse players arriving to use the same field after a full day of football.

There are modern restrooms, a massive scoreboard, a concessions booth, stands with railings and a carefully tuned sound system in place.

The only thing this field lacks is lighting.

To be precise - the infrastructure is in place - so the only thing truly lacking is the lights themselves and the process that will govern their use.

This petition is to ask the residents of Penfield to show their support for the addition of these lights which are up for discussion on Thursday September 19th at 7:00PM in the Penfield High School commons. 

This small change - small relative to the cost of the stadium as a whole - will enable Penfield residents and students to fully realize the stadium as a place for healthy sportsmanlike competition.  

It will become a gathering place for our community that can shine on - even after the sun sets.
